A team from Chinese Academy of Sciences cracked a key bottleneck: poor contact between solid electrolyte & lithium electrode.
Their smart fix?
Adding iodide ions (I⁻) to the electrolyte.
These ions migrate & form a self-adapting interface that actively fills gaps, ensuring tight contact — like "smart nano-glue."
Results:
